This Privacy Policy explains how SocialSib ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the SocialSib mobile application ("App").

1. Information We Collect

• Account information — phone number (for OTP login), display name, username, profile photo, and any bio/details you add
• Location data — your device's location, used to show nearby events and people. Only collected while you use location-based features, and you can disable it in your device settings
• Content you create — event listings, blog posts, photos, comments, reactions, and chat messages
• Usage & device data — app version, device type, and basic diagnostic/crash data, used to improve app stability
• Push notification token — used to deliver notifications (e.g. new messages, event updates), only if you allow notifications

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Operate core features: authentication, event discovery, social connections, blog posts, and chat
• Show you nearby events and people based on your location
• Send you notifications about activity relevant to you
• Maintain the security and reliability of the App
• Respond to feedback and support requests you submit

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:

• Other users, for the information you choose to make visible on your profile, posts, and events
• Service providers that help us run the App (currently Google Firebase, for authentication, database, storage, messaging, and analytics), under their own data protection terms
• Authorities, only where required by law

4. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your associated profile data, posts, and content within our systems, except where retention is required for legal or security purposes.

5. Your Choices & Rights

You can:

• Edit your profile information at any time within the App
• Turn off location access or notifications from your device settings
• Delete your account at any time from Settings within the App, which removes your profile, posts, and associated data

6. Children's Privacy

SocialSib is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will take appropriate action.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (including Firebase's security infrastructure) to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
